On June 9, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey hosted its inaugural Love Impact Awards, named in memory of Don Love, an active Federation volunteer who passed away in 2020. Kicking off Federation’s 100th anniversary year, the event recognized six outstanding volunteers who are following in his footsteps. Honorees were selected across the Federation’s five Areas of Impact. Along with many community members, honorees celebrated with Judy Love, Don’s wife, who carries on his legacy by continuing to serve the Jewish community.

In paying tribute to Don Love (z”l), Schwartz described him as a “colleague, mentor and conscience” who exemplified the values of humility, honesty, loyalty, and integrity. In introducing the honorees, Schwartz said that each displays a “relentless commitment to helping those who can’t help themselves.”
