RABBI ORA WEISS…scholar-inresidence Jan. 14-15.

In the first of two Sabbath events funded by the Jewish Community Foundation, Temple Har Zion will welcome a visiting rabbi/scholar Jan. 14-15, 2022. This is Shabbat Shira, the perfect kickoff to the THZ series. Rabbi Ora Weiss of Boston will lead a traditional service on Friday night at 8 p.m., a Renewal service on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by an oneg and teaching, and Havdalah service/teaching to end the Sabbath at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, followed by a wine and cheese reception. On both days, she will share her vision of “The Energetic Torah.”

True to the series name, services will be filled with plenty of singing. Weiss will share her vision of “Restorahtive Judaism,” a return to the religion’s roots that restores each human’s dignity, self-empowerment, and potential to choose ever-fuller consciousness and agency.

The events are open to the community and will be presented in-person and online. Temple Har Zion is located at 255 High St. in Mt. Holly.

For information on any of the events, visit TempleHarZion.org, email the synagogue at info@templeharzion.org, or call (609) 267-0660.
