Enjoying Israeli soccer team’s visit

A visiting Under-19 team from Maccabi Haifa F.C., one of Israel’s most celebrated soccer teams, toured the U.S. and played a Philadelphia Union Under-19 team on June 10 at the Chapel Ave. Park in Cherry Hill. Families had a lot of fun at the game and enjoyed a “child friendly” tailgate sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, along with its partner agencies the Katz JCC and the Jewish Community Relations Council. The New Jersey-Israel Commission, in partnership with St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, facilitated the Israeli team’s visit. Among those having a great time were (from left), David Snyder, Jewish Federation chief advancement and community relations officer; Leeat Atkinson, Maccabi Haifa F.C. Under-19 team manager; Jewish Federation CEO Jennifer Dubrow Weiss; and Itzik Ovadaya, Maccabi Haifa CEO.
