Hosted every summer since 2012, the P.A.L.S. (Peers using AAC for Language and Socialization) program brings together children aged 15-25 who have multiple special needs, for a week of fun, hands-on activities. The program takes place thanks to the efforts of teachers, therapists, parents, volunteers, and assistance from the Katz JCC’s ACHaD Special Needs Department. This year’s program, which was held the week of Aug. 13, focused on “A World of Adventures,” and featured activities from countries around the world. The group enjoyed Caribbean drummers, Irish dancers, Israeli music, a heartwarming award ceremony finale led by All Together Now Music Group, and more. Pictured are all of the participating youth and the program coordinators who made it possible.
