Beth Israel to host NYC piano bar on January 5

Beth Israel in Northfield will host an Evening of Piano Bar on Saturday, January 5, 7:30-10 p.m. This fun and relaxed evening will feature entertainment by a New York City pianist, beer and wine, and a casual dinner of gourmet pizza and salad. The entire community is welcome to attend.

“We’re bringing a traditional New York City piano bar to Beth Israel,” said Susan Sokalsky, Beth Israel’s administrator. “The pianist will play everything from show tunes to pop music and anything in between. People can request their favorites, sing along or dance. It will be a night to relax and enjoy good music and company.”

Broadway producer Heather Shields, whose family are longtime members of Beth Israel, will be bringing in the pianist, said Sokalsky. Her family was also instrumental in providing the piano, a baby grand donated by the Shields and Pinkus families after Heather’s grandmother, Shirley Pinkus, passed away. The piano is affectionately known as “Shirley.”

Admission costs $25 per person. Please RSVP to Beth Israel at 609-641-3600. s
