Beth El seeks monetary donations to purchase coats

Beth El in Margate will once again be collecting money to purchase coats for the needy for “The Joseph Project,” a joint initiative of the synagogue and Jewish Family Service. Beth El will be purchasing new coats, gloves, hats and other winter clothing essentials for adults and children who otherwise would not have these items.

Jewish tradition teaches that the giving of tzedakah (charity) is as great as all other mitzvot (good deeds) together (Bava Batra 9a). “During the holiday season, our thoughts often turn to meals and presents we will share with those we love,” a Beth El communiqué requesting donations noted. “Let us at this time also think of others who are lacking basic necessities.”

Donations are deeply appreciated from any community member who can help with the purchase of coats and other winter items.

Those interested in donating should contact Beth El at (609) 823-2725.
