“Broadway to Jerusalem” concert is August 26

Performer and cantor Ethan Leifer will offer an evening of song entitled “From Broadway to Jerusalem” at Rodef Sholom on Sunday, August 26, starting at 8 p.m. The Dr. Stanley and Audrey Goldstein Memorial Concert, an annual event presented by the Rodef Sholom Sisterhood, will be followed by an elaborate dessert buffet. All are welcome to attend the concert.

Featured performer Ethan Leifer, who has served as cantor of Temple Beth El of Cedarhurst, NY, is also a professional singer. His debut album, Ranenu, features a wide variety of musical styles, including Latin, Middle Eastern and Jewish Rock. The 1996 album, which sold over 10,000 copies in its first year, “introduces the listener to a unique assortment of melodies and styles never before heard together on the same album,” according to Jewishbroadcast.com, a Jewish music website, which also made note of Leifer’s “rich voice, energy and charisma” and “inspiring and uplifiting” renditions of Judaic melodies.

The Rodef Sholom concert, which is the Sisterhood’s major fundraiser, honors the memory of Stanley and Audrey Goldstein, who were extremely devoted to the shul. The dessert buffet following the concert is sponsored by longtime synagogue members Gene and Sandy Moteles.

A $25 donation is requested for the concert. Please RSVP to Raye Felder, sisterhood president, at 609-822-5425. Congregation Rodef Shalom is located at 4609 Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. s
