Beth El gala, Aug. 23, to honor LoBiondo

FRANK LOBIONDO FRANK LOBIONDO Beth El Synagogue will honor Congressman Frank LoBiondo at its Annual Gala on Thursday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the synagogue, located at 500 North Jerome Avenue in Margate. The 12th Annual Gala will feature an hour-long cocktail reception with passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner and awards ceremony. All are welcome to attend.

Selecting LoBiondo as the honoree was an easy choice, said Beth El Vice President Sandi Shechtman. The Congressman, who announced his retirement this year after 24 years of representing the local community in the U.S. House of Representatives, has been “extremely good to the Jewish community,” she noted.

LoBiondo has also been “a strong advocate for Jewish war veterans and all veterans,” said Shechtman, noting the congressman’s success in expanding local veterans’ access to community based health care providers, thus minimizing the need for South Jersey veterans to commute outside the state for VA-approved services.

On Capital Hill, Congressman LoBiondo is a member of the House Transportation and Infastructure Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Aviation, which is of critical importance to South Jersey. He is also sits on the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit and the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, both of which have jurisdiction over critical issues that affect New Jersey’s growing and ever changing transportation needs. He is also a staunch advocate for strengthening national security.

Gala tickets cost $125.00 per person. Reservations are required. If you would like to attend and/or participate as a sponsor in the ad book, please contact the Beth El office at 609-823-2725. s
