JOAN SANDRA GROSSMAN, of Cherry Hill, passed away on June 6. Joan was born in Philadelphia to Esther (nee Goldberg) and Israel (Harry) Broder. She graduated from West Philly High in 1954. She graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) with a teaching degree and later received her Master’s Degree from Glassboro. She worked as a reading specialist and teacher in Stratford. She was a life member of Hadassah and a former president of the South Jersey Reading Council. Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Aaron Grossman; her children, Ilene (Edward Bailey) Grossman-Bailey and Larry (Donna) Grossman; and her grandchildren, Jessica Grossman and Sylvia Bailey. FLORENCE S. LEACE (NEE SBAR), 94, passed away peacefully on June 7. Born in Camden, she moved to Philadelphia when she married. She was a past congregant of Shaare Shamayim (honored as Woman of the Year 1980) in Philadelphia, where she was an active member of the Sisterhood. She was an active volunteer throughout her life, including the Bernard L. Levinthal Chapter of B’nai B’rith (honored as Woman of the Year 1980), the Henrietta Szold chapter of Hadassah; Jewish Federation, Aid for Friends, the American Diabetes Association, and the Philadelphia Visitors Center. She is survived by her children, Benjamin (Elyse) Leace and Mindy (Dr. Benjamin) Rosenblum, and grandchildren Daniele and David Leace and Shaina and Hailey Rosenblum. Her husband, the late David Leace, passed away on December 5, 1978. Donations in her memory may be made to Hadassah, 1518 Walnut St. 4th Fl., Phila., PA 19102. s
