JCF announces this year’s Spring Grants

Each spring and fall, the Grants Committee of the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. receives applications from local non-profit organizations for JCF Grants. Jewish Federation agencies, day schools, and synagogues, along with other Jewish and secular organizations, are eligible to apply for up to $3,600 in funding per proposal for new and innovative programming to benefit the Southern New Jersey community.

This spring, the committee has approved nearly $20,000 in total funding to benefit 12 separate initiatives. JCF Spring Grant recipients are: BBYO South Jersey, Cong. Beth Tikvah, Jewish Abilities Alliance, Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, Jewish Senior Housing & Healthcare Service, Kellman Brown Academy, and Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service.

Grant awards are made possible thanks to the JCF’s Community Endowment Fund, as well as funds established by donors, including the Fannie & Meyer Adleman Family Endowment Fund, the Bush Refrigeration Camden Development Endowment Fund, the Glenn Cohen Memorial Music Endowment Fund, and the Larry Lerner Memorial Endowment Fund.

The JCF would also like to recognize and thank Stefanie and Steven Cohen and an anonymous JCF donor who provided matching funds for three of the awarded grants, bringing the total awarded to just over $24,000.

Chairing the JCF’s Grants Committee are Andi Levin and Sydria Schaffer, with Scott Seligman soon to be replacing Schaffer, who is also a JCF vice president.
