Shark Week is coming at you

We all know about the hit TV series “Shark Week” on the Discovery Channel. But are you ready for our Community Shark Tank to be transformed into Shark Week this year?

Shark Tank is another way in which our agencies, synagogues, and day schools can work together and become more unified. Teams from different organizations collaborate to create trailblazing projects and programs to help the community, meeting a need in one of our five areas of impact. The funders—or “Sharks”—then vote on which projects they want to invest in.

After almost two years, The Shark Tank is back off the success of programs funded from 2016: “The Navigator: Southern New Jersey’s Jewish Abilities Alliance,” an online information resource; “Café Connection—A Memory Café” for people with memory challenges; and “Shabbat Wok,” a community-wide teen Shabbat/Havdalah experience.

This year, we’ve got a little twist: Shark Week! Starting on Sunday, June 3, we will be posting a short TV series on our Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey Facebook page. We’re down to the final four projects (with Junior Shark Tank as the fifth). See what the projects are, how they’re going to impact our community, and which ones will get funded by the Sharks!
