OBITUARIES

ARTHUR E. SELTZER, of Cherry Hill, passed away on Mar. 30. Husband of the late Mildred Seltzer. Father of Sharon (William) Reed, Richard Seltzer (Bobbi Salem) and Linda (Jeffrey) Mrozinski. Grandfather of Andrea (John) Matthews, Alyse (Justin) Kreig and Michael (Laura) Reed. Great-grandfather of Lucas, Carter, Owen, Ryan and Andrew. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served proudly during WWII. He landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944 with the 29th Infantry, and was one of only two men from his landing craft to survive the D-Day invasion. He went on to fight through France, Belgium, and Germany, and was involved in the Liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp on April 21, 1945. He received numerous awards and citations related to his military service, including a Proclamation by Gov. James McGreevy and a State of NJ Commendation Medal. He took great pride in talking to students at his grandchildren’s school about his experiences during WWII. He was a Past Commander of JWV Post 126 in Cherry Hill, and was an active member with many organizations, including the American Legion Post 372 in Cherry Hill, VFW Post 15031, Amvets Post 0077, Chapel of Four Chaplains, Brith Sholom Lodge 966, the Katz JCC, and Temple Beth Sholom synagogue, as well as many others. JOSEPH KINGAN, of Cherry Hill, passed away on Mar. 31. Husband of the late Gloria Kingan. Father of Lynne (Mitch) Lapidus and Dr. Michael (Donell) Kingan. Grandfather of Benjamin (Madelon) Lapidus, SaraBeth Lapidus, and Aaron and Sally Kingan. Great-grandfather of Sloan Lapidus. Joseph was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII. HAROLD KIRSH passed away on Feb 26. He grew up in Collingswood and was a medical pioneer in what became Cherry Hill in the late 1940s. After a long and varied medical career in NJ, he moved to Palm Beach County, FL and continued to practice medicine there. Upon retirement, he became an artist, musician, and a published author and lecturer on American history. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Daras Savitz Kirsh, his sister Shanlee Pollack, his children— Ellen M Kirsh, Deena Kirsh Taylor, Jan Kirsh, and James Kirsh, DO, their spouses, his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

JACOB LOEW, of Cherry Hill, passed away on Mar. 31. Son of Andrea “Andi” and the late William “Billy” Loew. Brother of Bryan (Bonnie) Loew and Daniel (Rachel) Loew. Nephew of Nancy & David, Gary & Doris and Cindi & Alan. Uncle of Sophia, Susannah and Sarah.
