(Not pictured: Ashley Wurzer.) At NextGen: AC’s Havdalah and Game Night earlier this month, an intimate group of young adults (20s through 40s) gathered for a fun and meaningful evening. The group convened for dinner and then said farewell to Shabbat with a brief Havdalah service that included blessings, reading, singing, lighting the braided Havdalah candle, and passing around the spice box so that everyone could enjoy the scent.

After ending Havdalah by extinguishing the candle in a cup of wine, the games began. The group played “Jewish Apples to Apples,” along with two other games. NextGen: AC’s Havdalah and Game Night is now a monthly event (March 10 at 6 p.m.), as are the NextGen: AC Shabbat Dinners (the next dinner is March 23 at 7:30 p.m.). For more information or to RSVP, contact Rachel Waldman, Jewish Federation’s Hillel/ Young Leadership Director, at (609) 822-4404.

NextGen: AC is the new name for Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties’ Young Leadership Division. The group connects young adults in their 20s through 40s to Jewish life and community, as well as to each other. s
