STEAM COW is a big hit at Katz JCC Early Childhood

The Katz JCC Sari Isdaner Early Childhood Center unveiled the newest component to their STEAM curriculum: The STEAM COW (Cart on Wheels), which brings an interactive component of learning for children ages three and up. Nature Jack (top photo), local science educator, kicked off the unveiling with a hands-on science lesson about large molecules that most rubbers and plastics are made from—“super-duper” polymers. Students got to experiment with polymers themselves by pouring polymer powder into water and watching it expand to 50 times its original size. Chase Blumberg and Daniella Feinberg (bottom photo) were having hands-on fun with this science experiment.
