Gov. Murphy convenes forum on gun violence at Jewish Campus

“Building a Safer New Jersey: Combatting Gun Violence” was the focus of a forum on Feb. 13 featuring Gov. Phil Murphy, several local political figures, and others concerned about the issue. The event, organized by the Governor’s Office, took place at the Weinberg Jewish Community Campus. Among the participants were (from left), Jeff Shacket, JCRC interim executive director; Lynn Hoag, South Jersey legislative lead for Moms Demand Action; New Jersey Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald; Gov. Murphy; and Cherry Hill Mayor Chuck Cahn. Panelists experienced a lighthearted moment when JCRC Interim Executive Director Shacket gave Greenwald a box of the Majority Leader’s favorite doughnuts.
