It’s not too early to sign teens up for the Margate JCC’s summer travel camp

It’s not too early to plan ahead for the summer—especially if you don’t want your teen to miss out on several awesome travel opportunities being offered by the JCC in Margate. This summer, the JCC’s Teen Travel Camp, JVoyage (formerly known as JCC Road Rulz) will offer teens age 12-16 the opportunity to take part in two epic journeys across America and Canada. Spaces are limited.

Campers will travel by charter bus and plane to explore great locations while creating lifelong memories and seeing some of the best state parks, cities and locales each region has to offer. As an added bonus, the group will stay in a variety of different JCCs and six different university dormitories, and in doing so give teens a taste of college life.

The first ten-day excursion, Northern Exposure, goes from June 26 through July 5. The trip begins with a fun-filled day at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in PA before venturing to the biggest “water park” in the Northeast – Niagara Falls! The bus then travels north to explore the best of Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. The group will embark on many unique adventures including a bike tour of Ottawa, exploring a real castle at Casa Loma, view Toronto City from the enormous CN Tower and arrive at Montreal for Canada Day on July 1st.

Other activities planned include an interactive dinner at Medieval Times, a ‘Dining in the Dark’ experience at O’Noir, and a Surf and Turf restaurant with a real tidal surf pool as well as a Ghost Tour of Montreal’s Old City. The group will cross over the border just in time to explore the best of Boston, hike the Freedom Trail and witness the fireworks display on July 4th. The trip concludes with an excursion to the Statue of Liberty before returning back to South Jersey. A valid U.S. passport is required for this epic adventure.

The second longer excursion will explore national treasures and state parks throughout the Southwestern U.S. The 17- day trip runs from July 17 through August 2, 2018. Campers will visit the Grand Canyon as well as Yellowstone National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Zion National Park, Mount Rushmore, Grand Teton State Park, and Antelope State Park near Salt Lake City.

The tour will also include a weekend in New Mexico with a tramcar ride hovering thousands of feet in the air over Sandia Peak, a special day in Santa Fe to shop at the Sunday Indian Market, and a private tour of the Georgia O’Keefe Museum, located in a refurbished adobe style house. The group will experience Boulder’s Pearl Street, Casa Bonita, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and El Dorado Canyon, and stop at the infamous four corners, a spot where teens can be in four states at once; New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.

Campers will stay in a variety of KOA cabins and college campuses such as University of Denver, University of Albuquerque, and University of Salt Lake City.

The Margate JCC’s teen travel camp has taken hundreds of teenagers on adventures across the country and internationally for over a decade. Immersion into a completely different environment is an incredible learning experience for teens. J-Voyage allows teenagers to discover new customs, cultures and places while making new friendships and memories along the way. Every destination visited will have something unique to teach our young travelers.
