Join in a kid-friendly Mitzvah Day Jan. 15

Looking for a fun, kid-friendly way to volunteer on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day? PJ Library of Southern New Jersey and Kellman Brown Academy are hosting community service activities, in conjunction with Southern New Jersey’s Community Mitzvah Day.

The event will be held on Monday, Jan. 15 beginning at 10 a.m. at Kellman Brown Academy in Voorhees. Community services activities will include cookie decorating and creating thank-you cards for local first-responders, filling containers with soup to be given to local seniors, and more!

Following the community service activities, The Franklin Institute will be onsite to lead a special, fun workshop program.

This event is geared towards children in preschool through 4th grade, along with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver. There is no charge to attend and it is open to the community. Registration is required in advance at kellmanbrownacademy.org/mitzvahday.

PJ Library, a national book and Jewish family engagement program, sends high-quality, age-appropriate Jewish books and music to families each month. Families with children ages six months though eight years, living in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties are eligible to enroll.
