Enhancing quality of life for special needs families

The Jewish Federation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for members of our community with special needs. We believe individuals with special needs should have the opportunity to achieve their highest potential, and lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Just last year:

145 young adults with special needs found job coaching, vocational placement, and mentorship through JFCS.

119 children with special needs enjoyed an inclusive summer camp experience through the JCC Open Hearts/Open Doors program.

116 recreational events were offered to young adults with special needs through JFCS.

1,800 people found special needs resources in the community each month through the Jewish Abilities Alliance website.

But statistics can’t tell the whole story:

“The Jewish Abilities Alliance was great to work with. They put me in touch with a resource that was able to help me in one phone call. I feel so lucky we have this in our community to help the many families with children with special needs,” said Jerre, a parent of a child with special needs.

Together, we make an IMPACT on the lives of individuals with special needs in our South Jersey Jewish community.
