JFS hosts pre-open enrollment Medicare seminar

Each day 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65. With so many questions about health care, exactly what do seniors need to know?

October starts the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period. This is the one time per year that seniors can make a change to their prescription or advantage plans. Village by the Shore, a JFS initiative offering services for older adults, is hosting a free information presentation about Medicare basics on Wednesday, October 18, at 10 a.m.

Presented by Hafetz & Associates, an independent insurance agency specializing in Medicare, the 45-minute educational seminar will discuss the basic parts of Medicare, including Medicare Part A and Part B, Part C Advantage plans, Part D prescription plans, and supplemental plan coverage. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session as well as private consultations with representatives. This is an opportunity to assure that everyone is knowledgeable about their Medicare plan and their benefits.

Refreshments will be served. Registration is recommended. The presentation will take place at Jewish Family Service, 607 North Jerome Avenue in Margate. For more information or to register, please contact Amanda Reese at 609-872-0001 x107 or areese@srhafetz.com. To learn more about JFS programs and services, visit www.jfsatlantic.org. s
