Andi Levin & Jeffrey Resnick will receive Federation honors Oct. 25

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey has announced its honorees for the 95th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Andi Levin will be receiving Federation’s highest honor, the H. Richard Dollinger Community Service Award. This award is bestowed upon individuals who have provided outstanding service to the Jewish community, along with exemplary leadership and dedication to Jewish communal life. Jeffrey Resnick will be receiving the Shellie Greenspun Young Leadership Award, which honors individuals who are recognized as emerging leaders, have demonstrated commitment to Jewish life, and are dedicated to the purposes of the Jewish Federation.

Levin is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation, currently serving on the Executive, Planning, Budget and Allocations, and Financial Assistance Committees. She previously chaired the Planning Committee and co-chaired Super Sunday with her husband, Neil. Levin is the immediate past president of Jewish Senior Housing and Healthcare Service, currently chairing their Nominating and Funds Development Committees. She is completing her term of service this year on the Board of Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service, where she is a past president. Levin was recently installed as a board member on the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. for whom she co-chairs the Grants Committee.

Levin’s other positions include past president of the JGH Auxiliary of Lions Gate, member of the Legislative Task Force of the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies, and long-time member of the University of Pennsylvania Secondary School Committee. Levin and her family are members of Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill, where she has been a vice president on its Board of Trustees, and chaired the Social Action, Religious School Board, Personnel, and Membership Committees.

Past awards include the Shellie Greenspun Young Leadership Award of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, the Ethel J. David Award of the JGH Auxiliary, the John Adler Government Advocacy Mission Award, and the Jewish Educators Assembly Temple Beth Sholom Lay Leader of the Year Award.

Prior to raising her children, Levin worked as an Operations Consultant for Financial Institutions. She received her BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from New York University. Levin and her husband have lived in South Jersey for 24 years and have three adult children.

Resnick is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation, currently serving on the Budget and Allocations Committee and Finance Committee. In addition, he is president-elect of the Katz Jewish Community Center and serves on the board of Kellman Brown Academy. Outside of the Jewish Federation family, Resnick is actively involved in Chabad.

Resnick is a shareholder with the law firm of Sherman, Silverstein, Kohl, Rose & Podolsky, P.A., where he has worked for the past 20 years. Both he and his law firm have gone above and beyond in their duties as legal counsel for the Jewish Federation. He concentrates his practice on commercial and business litigation, representing businesses both locally and nationally. Resnick also represents individuals in insurance and other litigation matters. He shares his expertise as an attorney by serving as a lecturer in various areas of law for continuing legal education courses for the State of New Jersey.

Through his role on the Jewish Federation Board, Resnick said he can help the entire South Jersey Jewish community by working on issues facing the community at large. He is able to help individual organizations, as well as create opportunities for various Jewish organizations to work together in order to achieve greater success and unity.

Resnick and his wife, Haleh, have five children.
