Whelan honored at Beron JOAS dinner on Aug. 23

Senator Jim Whelan will receive the Adding Life to Years Award at a fundraising dinner held by Beron Jewish Older Adult Services (JOAS) at the Atlantic City Country Club on Wednesday, August 23, at 6 p.m. All proceeds will benefit support services for seniors. The entire community is invited to attend.

“JOAS shares a long and enduring relationship with Senator Whelan,” said Beron- JOAS executive director Adrienne Epstein. “He was instrumental in helping our agency secure the land to build our facility in 1998 and advocated for supportive senior services during his 12 years as Mayor of Atlantic City. As a New Jersey state senator, he continued to champion statewide assistance for older adults.”

The “Adding Life to Years Award” was established in 2010 in memory of Audrey Perskie, founder of Beron-JOAS. The award salutes individuals who exemplify and support the agency’s mission to encourage independence, activity, respect and dignity for the elderly in our community, said Epstein.

The dinner costs $100 per person. Please RSVP by August 16 to (609) 345-5555. Atlantic City Country Club is located at 1 Leo Fraser Drive in Northfield. s
