WILLIAM J. KRASSAN, 74, of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away on June 21. Born in Phila., Mr. Krassan worked as a photographer and was one of the founding partners of Krassan and Kovnat Photography in 1985. The studio has photographed the Cherry Hill East and Cherry Hill West Proms from the 1980s to the present. They also photographed a vast majority of the Bar & Bat Mitzvahs in the region for over 30 years as well as JCC Camp pictures, team photos for the Basketball Leagues at the Katz JCC and dance recitals for all of the major dance studios in the Cherry Hill, Voorhees and Marlton area. Their studio took care of all the photography for local synagogue charity events at no charge. Mr. Krassan became a Mason in 1984. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Royal Arch, a Shriner and a member of the Consistory. He served as Worshipful Master of Mizpah Lodge #245 F&AM in 1989 and served the Grand Lodge of the State of New Jersey as District Ritual Instructor in 1991, Grand Chaplain in 1992, was on the Grand Lodge Ritual Committee 1995 to 1999, was District Deputy Grand Master in 2004 and has been the Grand Photographer since 2004. Since 1992 he has photographed the portraits of 25 Grand Masters in the State of New Jersey and served as Grand Lodge Liaison to China in 2009-2010. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sandra Krassan, two daughters, Robin (David) Shaffer and Sue Hillman (Eric), two sons, Randy Krassan and Ira (Michelle) Krassan, five grandchildren, Rachael (Matt), Lindsay (Zach), Ashley, Erin and Haley, a sister Ellen Bradt and a sister-in-law Anne Blasband. RITA METZENDORF, of Mt. Laurel, passed away on June 18. Wife of the late Norman Herlich and the late Theodore Metzendorf. Mother of Michael (Caren) Herlich and Elisa (Lee) Widman.
