BLANCHE KAPLAN (nee Dorf), 89, of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Tenafly, NJ and Wayne, NJ, passed away on Mar. 17. Wife of the late Dr. Herbert W. Kaplan. Mother of Dr. Barnard A. Kaplan (Amy) of Voorhees, Elaine K. Cowen (Dr. Edwin Cowen) of Newburgh, NY and Nancy K. Bereny (Kenneth) of Tarzana, CA. Grandmother of Sarah (Jason), Naomi (Eric), Alexander, Rachel, Hallie, Gerald and Heidi. Great-grandmother of Brandon. Blanche is predeceased by her two sisters, Rose Siegel and Pearl Feldman. Blanche was born in Englewood, NJ on March 27, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Sarah and Barney Dorf. Blanche, who was raised in Tenafly, was a graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Business in 1948. She was a former member of Cong. Ahavath Torah in Englewood, a former member of Temple Sinai in Tenafly, a life member of ORT, and a life member of Hadassah.
