Register now for Bobbi Brown at May 18 Event for Women

By Jewish Federation Marketing Dept.

BOBBI BROWN… founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. BOBBI BROWN… founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. This year’s Event for Women will feature guest speaker Bobbi Brown, makeup artist, author, entrepreneur, and founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Brown first arrived on the beauty scene in 1991 with the launch of Bobbi Brown Essentials, and changed the face of cosmetics with 10 brown-based lipstick shades, created to fill a void in the market of simple, flattering and wearable makeup. Her philosophy was simple: “Women want to look and feel like themselves, only prettier and more confident.” Her unique approach to beauty and her ability to translate the latest trends into wearable, real life looks has made her a sought-after expert on television, in magazines and newspapers, and online.

Born in Chicago and a graduate of Emerson College, Brown’s entrepreneurial impact extends beyond fashion and beauty. She has been inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, received honorary doctorates from Montclair State University, Fashion Institute of Technology and Emerson College, was appointed by President Obama to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiation, and has received the Glamour Woman of the Year Award.

Brown’s message remains the same today as it was when she launched in 1991: “The secret to beauty is simple—be who you are.”

Come out for a great evening on Thursday, May 18, at 6 p.m. at Cong. Beth El in Voorhees. Tickets are just $75 with a minimum gift to the Jewish Federation’s 2017 JFund. Learn more and register at jewishsouthjersey.org/eventforwomen.

A special note of thanks goes to Event Chairs Joan Feinberg and Sharon Sackstein for their help in putting together such an amazing event. They are both active volunteers for the Jewish Federation family and share a passion for their Jewish community.

Feinberg said, “Growing up with parents who were very involved with Federation instilled in me the importance of Tzedakah. I have been a participant on several Federation missions and had the opportunity to see where our dollars go to help our fellow Jews all around the world. It gives me a sense of pride that I am able to carry on this tradition. My friend, Sharon Sackstein and I are a perfect match. It is so rewarding when friends and co-chairs think alike and enjoy helping in any way we can, both philanthropically and through volunteering. We look forward to a wonderful, successful Event for Women!”

Sackstein added, “Even though I did not grow up here, my roots are deeply planted in the South Jersey area and my heart is deeply filled with the same passion for volunteering and philanthropy as Joan’s.”
