The community-wide Super Sunday effort should make us proud
Our Jewish community should be extremely proud. Through your efforts as volunteers and donors, we were able to raise more than $1-million during Super Sunday/Super Week that will benefit our community and Jews around the world.
These dollars will help fund programming and services like Soups & Sweets, SAIL, Safe Haven, and TOPS for individuals with special needs. These services build social skills, vocational training, and encourage self-esteem. Resources like the new Jewish Abilities Alliance website will make navigating every aspect of special needs support so much easier.
These dollars help support family and youth programming in South Jersey, including early childhood education, the JCC Camps at Medford, the Gift of Israel, PJ Library, and much more.
These dollars support the state of Israel and enable JCRC to fulfill its mission on behalf of Israel right here in this community with programs including the Jewish Catholic Muslim Dialogue, Holocaust education, and government advocacy and relations.
These dollars support older adults in our community through transportation services, senior housing, veterans’ services, kosher meals, life-long learning, companion care, and grief support.
I want to specifically thank our Super Sunday Chairs, Nikki and Adam David and Sharonne and Sean Litz, and the Super Sunday Committee who organized and rallied members of our community to come out in droves in support of Super Sunday/-
I want to thank all of the volunteers and Federation staff who made the phone calls, entered the data, and raised the dollars.
I want to thank our generous sponsors, in particular, M. Rosenblatt Roofing & Siding, our presenting sponsor, together with our event sponsors Apple Physical Therapy; Columbia Bank; Cooper Bone & Joint Institute; Jennifer, Ronald, Susannah, and Ross Lieberman; Wolf Commercial Real Estate; and Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC; and all of our community partners who sponsored phones.
A huge thank-you to Marvin Samson Foundation for its challenge grant. This grant matched new and increased gifts, doubling the impact of those donations.
Finally, I want to thank the thousands of people who answered the calls, texts, and emails on Super Sunday/Super Week and pledged their support to the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. Together, we made a difference. Federation doesn’t just raise money. It builds community; it provides support; it becomes a resource, and none of this could be done without your generosity.
Super Sunday/Super Week has come and gone, but much work remains to be done as we strive to reach and hopefully surpass our $3-million goal. If you haven’t made your pledge yet, don’t worry, you still have time. You can do so by visiting jewishsouthjersey.org/supersunday. Be part of the team that makes an impact and a difference. s email@example.com
