Give your child an experience to last forever

Sending your child to Israel for a trip of a lifetime is one of the best gifts you can give to them. Studies show that a trip to Israel can transform them and enhance their Jewish identities. Yet many parents think the cost of this trip will be prohibitive. With the Gift of Israel program, funding the trip is very possible and very simple.

The Gift of Israel is a cooperative savings program, co-funded by families, synagogues, and the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (through contributions to JFund) that helps strengthen Jewish identity by enabling post- Confirmation Hebrew School students to afford a visit to Israel. Parents can begin making payments as early as third grade, and final payments are made in ninth grade.

Gift of Israel funds are only intended to cover a portion of the cost of an Israel program. Prices of Israel programs vary and the amount of Gift of Israel funds available may not cover the entire cost.

Children must be enrolled in Jewish education through 10th grade to use the funds. Beginning at that time, and until the student reaches age 23, they may participate in any recognized educationally-sponsored program to Israel. Eligible programs include community-sponsored trips, day school trips (this includes the day school eighth grade trip), congregational programs, national movement trips, and college study.

Enrollment for 2016 ends on January 31. Parents who do not make the deadline will need to wait until the next enrollment period.
