A hearty ‘Thank you!’ to all those who enhance Jewish lives everywhere

Jewish Federation CEO

We at Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey are dedicated to helping the Jewish community here and around the world. In order to do that, we often ask a lot of you. We ask you for your time, your insights, and your financial support so that we can deliver incredible and vital assistance on your behalf. Services like food pantries to the neediest in South Jersey, scholarships for children who want to attend Jewish camps and schools here and abroad, critical services for seniors, assistance to individuals with special needs and their families, and the infrastructure to advocate for and support Israel.

We love being able to impact so many lives in such a positive way. It is not just a job; it is a calling for so many of us here.

And we recognize, that it is also a calling for so many of you. You work very hard during the day so that you can afford the time to attend board meetings, chair committees, volunteer countless hours, and provide the support that makes all of this possible. And today, I want to take a moment to recognize your commitment and dedication to the mission of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, the local community, and Jewish lives here, in Israel, and throughout the world, and simply say, “Thank you!”

Thank you for pouring your heart and soul into this system. Thank you for pouring over agency budgets. Thank you for delivering canned goods to the hungry. Thank you for attending meetings and events. Thank you for making calls on Super Sunday. And thank you for pouring your heart, sweat, and souls into helping us make South Jersey and the world a better place to live in for the Jewish community and beyond.

We don’t want to just offer lip service though. We want you to know that we are doing everything in our power to make your efforts that much more meaningful. We already ensure that 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly into the programs and services that benefit the community. However, we are always looking for innovative and efficient ways to meet our goals and best manage your efforts, all while completing the promises we made to care for those in need, enhance Jewish life and ensure the continuity of a vibrant Jewish community.

One way we are looking to be more efficient in the coming year is to remove some of the events on the calendar. While we love to see all of your smiling faces and enjoy an evening together, we know that you all have busy lives and commit a lot of time to Federation and our agencies. We know that your efforts will be more efficient if you don’t have to worry about work, or more importantly, be able to spend valuable time with your families.

We’re also working to make our system more efficient for the thousands of people who rely on it every day. Our new concierge service is meant to easily guide folks to the right agencies and programs to address their needs. No longer do you have to call an agency blindly, hope you get the right person, or be passed around from department to department. With just one call, you are connected to the person that can get you medical assistance for an aging parent, apply for a scholarship to send a child to our Early Childhood Center, or get world class career training assistance through our partnership with JEVS Career Strategies.

We’re not just building a bigger Federation; we’re also building a more efficient and innovative Federation. One that you can support from anywhere so that we can all be an everyday hero everywhere. We thank you for all that you do to make this possible and look forward to your continued support. Thank you! s jweiss@jfedsnj.org
