In true Olympic spirit, Jewish Federation continues to go for the gold

Jewish Federation CEO

Our focus here at Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is clear. We care for those in need, enhance Jewish life, and ensure the continuity of a vibrant Jewish community locally, in Israel, and around the world. We’ve been doing it for decades.

Sometimes it’s in ways that are very familiar to you. Like a food pantry that help families all across South Jersey. Or programs that assist and empower children and adults with special needs. Maybe it’s just the way we care for senior citizens on a daily basis. It could just be how we collaborate with the local synagogues, day schools and early childhood centers to ensure a thriving Jewish community here in South Jersey.

But we’re also focused on what else we can do. What new ways can we have a positive impact on the local community and touch Jewish lives here and around the world. And I am so proud of some of the newest initiatives that we took part in this year.

Our Department of Jewish Education held a community Shark Tank. Through this program we were able to allocate more than $50,000 to new programs developed by synagogues, day schools, agencies, and individuals working together.

This gave you the chance to create the change. And we still have one more we’d like to launch. It’s the community favorite that you voted for and can help fund at https://jewishsouthjersey.org/sharktank

The Jewish Federation’s Israel Mission pledged to build a fully-accessible, protective classroom at LOTEM, where visitors can seek safety in the event of an emergency. LOTEM is the leading organization in Israel that makes nature truly accessible to children and adults with special needs. The facility has been built and now we need your help to complete our pledge. https://jewishsouthjersey.org/lotem

We recently welcomed the amazing folks at Moorestown Jewish Association (MJA) into the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. MJA facilitates opportunities to discover the vibrant Jewish community through Jewish experiences, such as pop-up Shabbats, holiday events, educational activities, and fun social gatherings for our friends and neighbors of all ages. You can learn more at https://moorestownjewishassociation.org/

And we’re bringing Tools For School into the Federation fold. Their focus is to make sure children throughout South Jersey start the school year off with all of the supplies they need. They are always collecting donations for supplies and bags and you can help them accomplish their goals or learn about their next bag-filling event at http://www.toolsforschool.org/

And that’s just this year. Imagine the amazing new and innovative ways we can have a positive impact on our local community, and Jewish lives here, in Israel, and around the world with your support. Consider being an everyday hero and support Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey today at jewishsouthjersey.org/jfund.
