Entebbe rescue operation commemorated

A July 5 program in Philadelphia commemorated the 40th anniversary of Israel’s dramatic Entebbe rescue mission. At the program, an Entebbe hostage rescued by the IDF and a Mossad spymaster told their stories about the rescue. A panel of Jewish professionals, featuring JCRC’s Brandon Cohen, discussed the meaning of the operation to an audience of young Jewish adults. During the operation, Yoni Netanyahu, brother of Israel’s current prime minister, was killed. Pictured (from left), in front of the Yoni Netanyahu Memorial were Andy Borans, executive director, Alpha Epsilon Pi; Yossi Puder, regional director, StandWithUs; Benny Davidson, Entebbe hostage/survivor; Avner Avraham, Mossad; Brandon Cohen, program director of the JCRC of Southern New Jersey; and Faye Goldstein, regional advisor, Hasbara Fellowships.
