We need your help to finish the project

The newly completed protected classroom at LOTEM, built with the help of contributions from Southern New Jersey donors. The newly completed protected classroom at LOTEM, built with the help of contributions from Southern New Jersey donors. The protected classroom on LOTEM’s ecological farm in Emek HaShalom has been years in the making. During the Second Lebanon War in 2006, a Katyusha rocket landed near LOTEM and the government mandated that

LOTEM construct a safe place for their program participants with special needs.

LOTEM is the leading organization in Israel that makes nature truly accessible to children and adults with special needs: Individuals with hearing impairments; individuals with physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges; children on the autism spectrum; at-risk youth; and mothers and children residing in shelters for victims of domestic abuse.

LOTEM waited a long time to find partners in their project to build a protected classroom—partners who understood the importance of their mission and the Jewish value of kol Yisrael areivim zeh l’zeh. Indeed, we are all responsible for one another. LOTEM is grateful that the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey has partnered with them in their mission to ensure that nobody in Israeli society is left behind.

As we set out to raise the last remaining funds for the protected classroom, LOTEM sends us a big toda raba from Israel. Help us keep our promise to build a safer tomorrow for LOTEM.
