We need your help to make Super Sunday successful

Since biblical times, Jews have fulfilled their obligation to help fellow Jews to the best of our abilities. We don’t turn our backs on those in need and believe that everyone is entitled to a life free from hunger and deprivation.

While there are numerous opportunities throughout the year for individuals to make a difference, Super Sunday is a time set aside by the Jewish community to focus its energy towards making the greatest impact.

Simply put, Super Sunday is the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey’s largest fundraising event of the year. The community-wide phon-a-thon will involve hundreds of people making calls or otherwise supporting a massive effort to get the word out to thousands of Southern New Jersey residents about the ever increasing needs of Jews locally, in Israel and worldwide. That whole families— children, teens, parents, and even grandparents—help out is a moving expression of the strength of our people and the power of our community. Teaching children the power of tzedakah and instilling the importance of tikkun olam—this is how Jewish identity is formed and a strong Jewish community paves the way for the future.

If you want to see this ideal in action—and be part of it—then join your friends and neighbors on Sunday, Jan. 31. If you can give of your time during Super Sunday or the follow-up Super Week, volunteer at www.jewishsouthjersey.org/supersunday or by calling (856) 751- 9500, ext. 1117.

Both those gathered at the Katz JCC and those who answer the call that day and during the Super Week follow-up phone-a-thons will be showing their support for our community. Your Jewish brothers and sisters need your help. .
