DR. LEONARD BAKER, 97, of Burlington City, passed away on Dec. 7. Dr. Baker was a long time resident of Burlington County. Active in his community, he was a member of Burlington Lodge #32 F&AM for 50 years, serving as Worshipful Master in 1961. Dr. Baker served as Treasurer for the Burlington Lions Club from 1953-1958, and was a member of the Burlington NJ Elks for 53 years. He was a member of Temple B’Nai Israel in Burlington and was President from 1952-1953. Professionally, Dr. Baker was President of the NJ Academy of Optometry in 1976, was a life member of the American Optometric Association, and was a member of the NJ Optometric Association. He also served as President of the NJ State Board of Examiners in Optometry in 1975. He is survived by a son, Dr. Shelby A. Baker (Denise) of Pennsauken, and a granddaughter, Zoë Markwalter (John Kelly) of Beacon, NY. Dr. Baker was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Baker, and his daughter, Eileen B. Markwalter. EVELYN ALTMAN ROSENFIELD, 97, passed away on Dec. 9. Mother of Richard Kamis, Aaron Kamis (Irene) and Allan Rosenfield (Dan Nester); grandmother of Daniella Kamis- Brown (Gordon Brown), Josh Kamis (Nikki), Shoshana Dichter (Kenny), Jeffrey Kamis and Alisa Kamis-Brinda (Sean Brinda) and great-grandmother of Jaime Peterson, Allison Thomas, Ian Brown, Alexandra Brown, Michael Brown, Elyssa Kamis, Jordyn Kamis, Dillon Kamis, Chloe Dichter, Harley Dichter, Phoebe Dichter, Jacob Kamis and Evelyn Brinda. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew Rosenfield and sons Frederick W. Kamis and Arthur Lee Kamis. Donations may be made to the Frederick W. ROSE SCHMUKLER, 101, passed away on Nov. 27. Widow of the late Martin E. Mother of Anita, Alan and Sandra. Survived by nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was a gifted watercolorist and writer and a beloved member of Cong. PAUL J. SOLOMON, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away on Dec. 13. Husband of the late Elaine Solomon. Father of Ruth S. (David) Gubernick and Linda (Harvey) Lowenthal. Grandfather of Rita (Randy) Prusiewicz, Lisa (Michael) Rosenberg, Andrew Lowenthal and Mitchell Lowenthal. Great-grandfather of Haley, Mia and Jacob. He was a member of Mizpah Haddon Heights Lodge #191 F&AM. for over 60 years, was a 32nd degree Mason, and was also a Rotarian. He was a former member of Temple Emanuel.
