Innovative thinkers sought for Jan. 10 event

The Jewish Federation is excited to announce a new collaboration in community wide programming. Modeled after the popular TV show, “Shark Tank,” we’re hosting our own COMMUNITY SHARK TANK to bring together teams from across our community organizations—and individuals, too—to design innovative new programming. Our 2013 POP Study report identified four priority areas in our community: engagement/education, Israel, seniors, and special needs. Using that report as a basis for community trends, demographics, and needs, Shark Tank teams will look for ways to make a real and lasting impact with their project proposals.

We’re looking for innovative thinkers and passionate members of our community to join us for the Community Shark Tank kick-off event on Jan. 10, 2016. There, you will be matched with other like-minded participants to create teams of three or more organizations/individuals. The goal here is community collaboration… and of course, change!

Together, we can chart the course for our future.

In June, the teams will come together again for a community-wide event where projects will be presented to the “Sharks” and voted on by the Sharks, local philanthropists, to see which projects are innovative enough to receive the Sharks’ funding.
