Federation announces new partnership with JEVS

The Jewish Federation is pleased to announce a new partnership with JEVS Human Services of Philadelphia to offer expanded college and career services to residents of Southern New Jersey. These new programs will be funded in part through the generous support of the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation, and operated by JEVS Human Services staff with services provided at the Jewish Federation building located at 1301 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill.

“College Strategies” is a comprehensive resource for preparing teens—and their parents— for college. Spread over 18 months, this program includes SAT and ACT test preparation, college and career advising and counseling, college application and admission assistance, and guidance in navigating the financial aid process and FAFSA completion. No other program in Southern New Jersey offers families such a robust college admissions service! We are now accepting applications with a start date of January 2016. Email CollegeStrategies@jevs.org or call (856) 751-9500, ext. 1180 to learn more.

“Career Strategies” will partner with Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS), an agency of the Jewish Federation, to offer research-based and results-oriented strategies and resources to assist the unemployed, underemployed, and those seeking to change careers. This program will serve up to 100 participants, providing oneon one employment counseling, resume review and interview assistance, and group workshops that will augment and expand on JFCS’ popular career workshops. For more information, please call (215) 854-1834 or email cs@jevs.org.

“We are always looking for ways to expand our services,” said Ronit Boyd, planning director for the Jewish Federation. “College and Career Strategies is a logical extension that will bring new and innovative programs to our South Jersey community.”
