RUTH L. BORGER, of Tamarac, FL and formerly of Deptford, died on Apr. 10. Wife of the late Hyman Borger. Mother of Gary L. Borger, Esq. and Barbara F. Borger. Sister of Saul Lampert and Rose Schwartz. She lived in the Woodbury area for 39 years before moving to Florida. She was a Library Assistant with Deptford Township High School for 21 years. JEROME M. COTLER, M.D., 85, formerly of Haddon Heights and Bridgeton, died on Apr. 10. Husband for 62 years of Florence Dion Cotler. Father of Dr. Howard Cotler (Susan) and Michele Bronkesh (Noah). Grandfather of Mitchell and Amanda Cotler, Laura Bronkesh Weinberg (Jeremy), Elizabeth Bronkesh and great-grandfather of Jacob Weinberg. Dr. Cotler, or Jerry to friends and family, attended Bridgeton Public Schools, Ursinus College and Jefferson Medical College. He became Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) and went on to teach at the Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Cotler served as President of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and as Director of the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He was the Dr. Everett J. and Marian Gordon Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at TJUH. Dr. Cotler was elected to the J. Aiken Meigs Medical Society and has received numerous honors and awards, including the American Spinal Injury Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Ursinus’ Alumni Award, Jewish National Fund “Man of the Year,” the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, the Garland Award for Excellence in Resident Education and the Sir John Charnley Award from the Arthritis Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania for exemplary ideals and achievement in the field of orthopedics. DR. EDWARD FLEISCHMAN, of Voorhees, died on Apr. 19. Husband of Rochelle Fleischman. Father of Keith (Lucy) Fleischman, Erik (Pim) Fleischman and Debra (David) Herman. Grandfather of Sabrina, Breanna, Samuel, Aaron, Zen and Jonah. He graduated from Long Island University in 1952, earned a Master’s degree from Columbia, and graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1959. ADELE SCHLOSSBERG, 100, of Cherry Hill, died on Apr. 8. Wife of the late Robert Schlossberg. Mother of the late Lois Levine (Judith and the late Rabbi Richard A. Levine) and the late Renee Ratner (Stephen and Audrey Ratner). Grandmother of Brian (Iris Caesar) Golder, Deborah (Chelsea Nather) Golder, Yael (Doug) Emenecker, Shira (Lior) Keet, Deana (Brian) Surrick, Lee (Kelly) Ratner, and Janette (Todd) Ritter.
