Classes promote healthy meals

The JCC’s Health & Wellness department is offering the next installment of the Cooking from the Garden program, “Taste of the Rainbow.” This hands-on cooking program, taught by JCC nutritionist AJ Greenetz, a registered dietetic technician, will teach participants to cook healthy and flavorful meals, and each class will use ingredients within specific color groups.

“There are endless possibilities in cooking, and cooking healthy meals is no exception,” said Greenetz, who also offers nutrition counseling services at the JCC. “From nutrient-rich greens like kale for strong bones, sweet blueberries for memory function and tart cranberries to promote heart health, there are so many combinations of healthy ingredients that create delicious results!”

This five-week course, which is open to the community, begins on Sunday, June 8. JCC Full Facility members may sign up on a weekly basis at $15 per class or for the entire session at $60. JCC Basic members and guest may sign up on a weekly basis at $20 per class or for all 5 weeks at $85. Each class includes hands-on instruction with Greenetz, tasting and recipes to take home.
