Musician-in-residence Sheldon Low returning to TBS for Dec. 15 concert

SHELDON LOW…will hold a return performance at Temple Beth Sholom on Sunday, Dec. 15. SHELDON LOW…will hold a return performance at Temple Beth Sholom on Sunday, Dec. 15. Sheldon Low, musician-inresidence at Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill, will return this year on Sunday, Dec. 15. Last spring, the nationally touring Jewish rock star performed two concerts at TBS. The first concert filled the sanctuary with TBS Religious School students and their families. Cantor Jen Cohen and the iShir Youth Choir performed, and each grade level had the opportunity to sing and rock out with Low on the bimah as a photo slide show of Religious School memories played in the background.

Spring Fling with Sheldon Low took place that same afternoon. This concert, geared for early childhoodaged learners, was sponsored by the TBS Early Childhood Education Center, Young Members Group, and PJ Library. This program was open to the entire community, and after singing and dancing with the children, Low led over 125 people in a musical parade down to TBS’ Zalman Beigel Science Exploratorium and Noah’s Ark Indoor Play Center for more springtime crafts and activities.

Now the musician-in-residence at TBS for 2013-2014, the congregation works with Sheldon monthly to engage in exciting Jewish music and learning.

Low will be performing live on Dec. 15 at TBS Young Members Group’s Sunday Fundays in the Ark program. This ongoing program is geared for families with children birth through age six, and it offers a Jewish learning and social environment for families to spend time with one another, enjoy hands-on, multisensory activities and explore in the Noah’s Ark Indoor Play Center. Sunday Fundays in the Ark is scheduled on select Sunday mornings at TBS from 9-11:15 a.m., and it is free and open to the community. On Dec. 15, Low’s featured performance during the program will take place at 10 a.m.
