EVELYN AXLER, of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Merchantville, died on July 8. Wife of the late Samuel Axler. Mother of Marvin (Marilyn) Axler and Edward (Deborah) Axler. Grandmother of two.
LILLIAN (nee Dubrow) BAKER, 92, of Burlington City, died on July 13. Wife of Dr. Leonard Baker. Mother of Dr. Shelby A. Baker (Denise) of Pennsauken and the late Eileen B. Markwalter. Sister of Florence Steel of Haddonfield and the late Walter Dubrow. Grandmother of one. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Burlington City High School in 1937, a graduate of College of South Jersey in 1939 and South Jersey Law School (now Rutgers Law School) in 1943. She was the first woman admitted to the Bar in Burlington County. Mrs. Baker served on the Board of Deborah Hospital and was president of the Local Burlington County Chapter of Deborah Hospital. She was a member of Temple B’nai Israel and was a past president and vice president of their Sisterhood. She belonged to the National Women’s League where she served on the Board of the SNJ Branch as well as the National Board. Contributions can be made to the Samaritan Hospice of Mt. Holly.

Father of Ronald (Julia), Lori, Scott (Merle), Greg (Marcy), Gale (Ken), and the late Susan. Brother of Robert, Gary, Ira and the late Steven. Grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of two.
STANLEY GOLDSMITH, of Margate, died on July 2. Husband of Doris Goldsmith. Father of Ilene Leese and Gary (Linda) Goldsmith. Grandfather of four.
MILES LESSEM, of Voorhees, died on July 5. Son of the late Harold and Selma Lessem. Brother of the late Benjamin Lessem.
JOEL MAGAZINER, 62, of Highland Beach, FL, formerly of Cherry Hill and Potomac, MD, died on July 5. Father of Chase, Lion, January and Paris Magaziner. Brother of Badiene, Steven (Denise), Dr. Allan (Suzanne) and Howard (Gillian) Magaziner. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Magaziner graduated from Cheltenham High School and attended Penn State Univ. for two years. He started working for a car dealership before buying a Chrysler-Plymouth franchise in York, PA at age 26. In the early 1980s, he sold the franchise and moved to Glassboro where he owned and operated Joel Magaziner Ford for more than 20 years. During that time, Mr. Magaziner was a leader of the United Way of SNJ and a board member of Glassboro State College. Realty Board and past vice president of the residential division of the Phila. Board of Realtors. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard.
