YAD Comedy Night Set for Jan. 22

Start the New Year off with a little laughter! Join the Young Adult Division (YAD) of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey for a night of “Hilarity & Charity” on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Katz Jewish Community Center in Cherry Hill.

The Lahn Social Hall will be transformed into a comedy club setting with entertainment provided by young comedians Dave Adhoot and Ethan Fixell. They are sure to keep you laughing all night, according to Jen Fowler, event cochair with Heather Leibowitz.

“Last year’s event was such a success,” said Fowler, “and this year is going to be even better! We have two great comedians performing, an open bar and catering by Prestige Caterers. We look forward to a great evening.”

This event occurs one week prior to the Jewish Federation’s annual community wide phon-a-thon, Super Sunday, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 30.

“It’s time to take this event to the next level,” said Leibowitz and “we look forward to Hilarity & Charity serving as the kick-off of YAD’s participation in Super Sunday. We hope to see many young adults on Jan. 22, gathered together for a night of fun and demonstrating their support for the Jewish Federation.”

The Young Adult Division (YAD), a standing committee of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, offers young Jewish adults (single and married, ages 25-45) the opportunity to participate in the Jewish community through volunteering, networking, leadership development, social and educational activities. YAD raises dollars for the Jewish Federation Annual Campaign to support a network of services and programs in Southern New Jersey, Israel and 58 countries worldwide.

The event co-chairs gratefully acknowledge YAD’s UpSTART investors who helped make this event possible: Gold Investors--Beneficial Bank; Buy This House; and M. Rosenblatt Roofing; Silver Investors--Cherry Hill Gold & Silver; North American Title Insurance Company and Sonstein Financial Group; Bronze Investors--Susan Dashoff-Ellman and David & Daryl Farber.

In addition to the evening’s entertainment, participants will enjoy elaborate kosher butlered hors d’oeuvres, buffet and dessert stations and an open bar. Tickets are $36 per person prior to Jan. 7 and $45 per person thereafter and at the door. This is a solicitation event, and participants will be asked to make a commitment to the 2011 Jewish Federation Annual Campaign.
