Israel dedicates Jerusalem monument

      A monument to the victims of 9/11 was dedicated in Jerusalem. The monument, commissioned and built by the Jewish National Fund-USA/Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, depicts the World Trade Center and Pentagon through sculpture and landscape architecture. A memorial dedication was held in Jerusalem’s Arazim Park.

Did U.S. stop Israeli attack?
      The United States vetoed an Israeli plan to attack a ship bearing weapons allegedly from Iran to Hezbollah, according to an Arabiclanguage newspaper. A-Sharq Al- Awsat reported that Israeli sources said the United States insisted Israel not attack the ship, as it wished.

      An alleged U.S.-born Jewish terrorist was indicted for two murders and three attempted murders. Yaakov (Jack) Teitel appeared in Jerusalem District court, where he was charged with the murders of two Palestinians and attempted murders of Jews.

Israel signs deal with India
      Israel will supply an upgraded air defense system to India. Israel signed the $1.1-billion contract during a visit to Israel by the head of India’s army, Gen. Deepak Kapoor, Reuters reported. The state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. has promised to deliver the Barak-8 tactical air defense system to India by 2017. Israel is India’s largest defense supplier. (JTA)
