SUPER SUNDAY 2010

Local Jewish organizations, groups and synagogues are being encouraged to come as teams and make calls for the Jewish Federation’s community-wide phone-a-thon; Super Sunday/Super Week 2010. Super Sunday will take place on Jan. 31 at the Weinberg Jewish Community Campus. Funds raised enable local agencies and overseas partners to support a wide variety of programs and services that are vital to thousands of people in Southern New Jersey and around the world.

Among those expected to bring a team of volunteers are Kellman Brown Academy and Politz Day School. Fran Rebhun, Kellman Brown Academy president and Federation board member, has been a Super Sunday/Super Week volunteer for several years. “I’ve always come with Kellman. We sit together as a group, garnering volunteers from our school board and student body. It is our responsibility to show our support for raising dollars for the programs and services funded by Federation since it affects all aspects of our community for both the young and old,” said Rebhun.

Diane Irwin, a Politz committee member and parent, said that making calls during Super Sunday involves her entire family, including her husband, Eytan, a Politz board member, and their children. “We believe in what the Federation does for the Jewish community and how it assists Politz. Support is needed by everyone, and coming as a group shows our appreciation to the Federation,” she said.

Federation welcomes all organization teams and will reserve a block of phones during the shift of their choice. Shifts are: 9:30 a.m-12: 30 p.m., 12-3 p.m., 2:30- 5:30 p.m., and 5-8 p.m. Super Week will follow on Feb. 1-4 from 6-9 p.m. in the Federation boardroom.
