Speaking up for coexistence

I am very sorry to learn about the attack on the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. I realize that for those who have suffered through this darkest period in human history or have friends and families who have suffered through it, the Holocaust Museum is a sacred place. This attack defiles the memories of all those whom the Museum reveres and memorializes.

Although this attack was perpetrated by a single hatefilled person, such examples of antisemitism, which have been on the rise, are cause for serious concern. We recently mourned the loss of a dear friend and a good human who built bridges of love and goodwill, Zia Rahman, a leader of the Jewish- Catholic-Muslim Dialogue of Southern New Jersey. On the same day we were faced with the despicable acts of a man who stands for the exact opposite. We are committed to making our little patch of God's great earth a model of harmonious and respectful coexistence.
