Great music and crafts highlight Family MusicFest

Come enjoy an evening of culturally rich and diverse Jewish music at the 2009 Summer Family MusicFest on Monday, Aug. 3 at the Weinberg Jewish Community Campus in Cherry Hill. The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, its Young Adult Division (YAD), and the Katz JCC are the event coordinators, with Julia Roberts and Sarah Yashaya serving as the event co-chairs. Metro Bank is the lead sponsor of the event.

Two fabulous bands will be featured at this multi-generational program. Hester Street Band is a community favorite from Princeton that will be performing delightful Klezmer harmony. The Avram Pengas & the Noga Band, originally from New York and with over 25 years experience in the music industry, will give listeners a tasteful Mediterranean, Greek and Ladino blend.

Everyone attending the Summer Family MusicFest is invited to bring a picnic dinner and blankets to the Katz JCC's outdoor fields or to purchase kosher food on sale at the event. There will also be a "Groovin' Crafts" bazaar, featuring products from a wide variety of local jewelry and crafts vendors.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the show begins at 5 p.m. This event will be held rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be moved inside the Katz JCC.

Admission is $5 per person, and children age 12 and under are free.
