JCF hosts 'spirited' seminar
      The Jewish Community Foundation's Professional Advisory Committee hosted a financial planning seminar on April 23 to help guide community members during these challenging economic times. Nearly 50 guests attended the event at the Camden County Boathouse, which also included a Scotch tasting, courtesy of The Glenrothes and Skyy Spirits.

Law enforcement personnel honored
     More than 130 representatives of federal, state, county and township law enforcement authorities attended the annual Jewish community Law Appreciation Breakfast honoring those in law enforcement who work to make a better community for all. Honorees, from Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties included (from left), Brian Randazzo, Voorhees Police Department; Michael Kantner, Chief, Camden County Prosecutor's Office; Jean Stanford, Burlington County Sheriff; Tom Sullivan, Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, and Kenneth Ridinger, Paulsboro Police Department. The event was sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council, the South Jersey Men's Club, the Anti-Defamation League of NJ, Shomrim, and was hosted by the Men's Club of Temple Emanuel, where the event was held.

TOUCH teen volunteers seek projects
     Packing food baskets to be used as centerpieces for tonight's Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service Annual Meeting are (from left), Rebecca Greenberg, Amanda Silpe, Shayna Golkow, Elana Perlstein, Rachel Levin, Samara Levin, Alec Roth and Jacob Udell. Following the meeting, the food will be donated to families in need throughout the community, through the JFCS food pantry. The teens are members of TOUCH (Teens Organized and United to Care and Help) a partnership between the JFCS Volunteer Department and students at area high schools and youth groups. TOUCH now has chapters at Cherry Hill and Eastern High Schools, both facilitated by Shayna Golkow and JFCS volunteer coordinator, Andi Loew. The teens are now reaching out to the community for potential service projects.

Kosher Meals on Wheels offers New spring menu
      The Senior Services Department of Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service has a new spring Kosher Meals on Wheels menu. The spring entrees are Panko crusted flounder with chipotle sauce, lox and onion quiche, whole wheat pasta and grilled vegetables, and baked eggplant parmesan with marinara sauce.
