JCF names new president, officers

NEAL CUPERSMITH … to head the Jewish Community Foundation. NEAL CUPERSMITH … to head the Jewish Community Foundation. The Jewish Community Foundation, Inc., will elect and install Neal Cupersmith as its new president at its 29th Annual Dinner. Cupersmith succeeds Nina Cohen following two consecutive terms. Also to be elected and installed at the May 19 event are Vice Presidents Jim Kellmer and Victor Levy, and Treasurer Ron Dubrow.

The dinner is set for 6 p.m. at the Weinberg Jewish Community Campus.

A past president of both the Jewish Federation and Katz JCC, Cupersmith has been a philanthropic leader for over 30 years. He serves as trustee of the Saltzman Foundation and treasurer of Jewish Senior Housing and Healthcare, and sits on the boards of the Philadelphia Theater Company, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, Kellman Brown Academy, and Politz Day School of Cherry Hill.

A CPA, Cupersmith recently formed a new firm, Cupersmith, Wilensky, Steiger, Stempler and Co. He serves clients in manufacturing, law and medical practices, real estate, restaurant and retail operations, while supervising the firm's litigation support and forensic accounting services, an serving as an expert witness in numerous court proceedings.

Recognition for his volunteerism includes the Jewish Federation Community Service Award, the Jewish Community Center Leader of the Year Award, and the Martin Luther King Community Leader Award.

A resident of Voorhees, Cupersmith and his wife Fran are the parents of two sons, Adam and Ryan.

Dinner highlights will also include honoring Nina Cohen plus five additional area women philanthropists.

Cohen will be cited for her contribution to the expansion of JCF's donor base and to its increased committee involvement during her administration, along with helping to build the agency's reputation within the community. Other honorees will be Ruth Saltzman (of blessed memory), who established the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation, the largest endowment ever for the South Jersey Jewish community; Sis Levy, who has donated significant time and resources to Jewish Senior Housing and Healthcare; Marcy Sanders and Dr. Janine Sobel, both JCF board members, past presidents of the Jewish Federation, and JCF committee chairs, and Jamie Dollinger, an emerging young leader who is active on the JCF Grants Committee and Federation's Annual Campaign. A special video will be shown in their honor.
