Local Jewish teen athletes, artists wanted for JCC Maccabi Games

Calling all athletes and aspiring artists to take part in this year's South Jersey JCC Maccabi experience. Local Jewish teens between the ages of 13 and18 with passion for sports and the arts are encouraged to apply for The JCC Maccabi Games and the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest. Both programs offer teens the chance to meet lifelong friends from all over the world, participate in community service and strengthen their Jewish identity.

The South Jersey delegation will participate at two venues in 2009. The boy's soccer, girl's soccer, bowling and table tennis teams will travel to San Antonio, Texas from Aug. 9-14. The boy's basketball, girl's basketball, baseball, golf, swimming, tennis and newly added, dance teams will be travel to Mid- Westchester, NY from Aug. 16-21.

The South Jersey JCC Maccabi ArtsFest delegation will go to Orange County, CA from Aug. 9-14. ArtsFest is for teens who with an interest in creative writing, acting/improve, film and TV production, jazz ensemble, digital photography, dance, visual arts, musical theater, vocal music and rock/pop.
