Judy Gold coming to PTC
JUDY GOLD…will appear at Philadelphia Theatre Co. Dec. 11-21. Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) will present Judy Gold in "25 Questions for a Jewish Mother," co-written by Kate Moira Ryan and Gold. This special holiday production will run Dec. 11-21 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, home of the PTC, Broad and Lombard in Phila.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8; Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. and one Saturday matinee on Dec. 20 at 2.
"25 Questions for a Jewish Mother" is a hilarious 70-minute monologue based on over 50 interviews with Jewish mothers of varying ages, ethnicities and occupations. The result is a humorous and often poignant look at the mother-daughter bond, Jewish identity and the complicated and fulfilling nature of motherhood. The play received a 2006 Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance.
Emmy award-winning writer/actress/comic Judy Gold is the host of HBO's "At the Multiplex with Judy Gold" and also hosted Comedy Central's "100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time," and the GLAAD Media Awards that aired on LOGO and VH1. The winner of two Emmy Awards for writing and producing "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," Gold was nominated twice for The American Comedy Awards' Funniest Female Stand-Up. Most recently, she co-hosted "The View."
