Ner Tamid bowls to victory in recent JAG tournament
     A team representing Cong. Ner Tamid bowled to victory in the recent Jewish Athletic Group (JAG) Bowling Tournament. The 18-pin victory over Cong. Beth El marked the second tournament in a row Ner Tamid has emerged victorious. The winning effort was marked by a tournament high 233 rolled by Jon Pliskin. Celebrating their victory were (from left), Abram Goldfinger, Sam Malat, Ed Melman, Steven Pliskin, Bruce Levin, Jon Pliskin, Bruce Berkowitz, and Bill Roth.

Jewish school told to admit all
      A high-performing Jewish school in North London was ordered to admit children of all faiths. The school will have to make it clear in its prospectus that it will admit children who are not Orthodox Jews. Most of the pupils at the Hasmonean High School are Orthodox Jews.

Environment interests Politz school students
     Gershon Eichen and Noa Baker, sigth graders at Politz Day School of Cherry Hill, examine a sample of storm water taken from a local freshwater pond near Columbia Lake as part of a program to increase public awareness of the environmental impacts of human activity. Politz sixth graders are collecting water for monthly testing to determine how external influences can alter the physical and chemical composition of the pond, and will present their findings to the Cherry Hill Environmental Advisory Committee.

Lions Gate hosts reunion for fraternity brothers
     Fraternity brothers (from left) Eddie Adelman, Rich Rosenberg, Stanley Adelman and Malcolm Rosenberg are two sets of biological brothers who've known each other since they were five years old. Eddie and Malcom are Lions Gate residents. Their fraternity held a recent reunion at the Voorhees continuing care retirement community.

      Image by image, frame by frame, Philippe Karsenty went through French TV's footage of the death of Muhammad Al- Dura. The 12-year-old boy allegedly was shot by Israeli troops at the Netzarim Junction in Gaza in 2000.

      Internationally-known entertainer Neshama Carlebach will be featured at the Annual Lois Levine Arts Weekend at Adath Emanu-El, 205 Elbo Ln., Mt. Laurel. The public is invited to Shabbat services and a reception on Friday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m., a display of artwork, and a free concert featuring Carlebach on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Mother-daughter at WLCJ
     Cong. Beth El's Faye Shapiro recently attended the International Convention of Women's League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ). She had the honor of reading the Torah at services for the 800 members of Conservative sisterhoods from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Israel. Shapiro (right) attended the convention with her mother, Ethel Levinson (center), a former Cherry Hill resident and past president of Southern New Jersey Women's League, and her sister, Lisa Riseman (left), a Brockton, MA resident and president of her synagogue's sisterhood.

      Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) will present Judy Gold in "25 Questions for a Jewish Mother," co-written by Kate Moira Ryan and Gold. This special holiday production will run Dec. 11-21 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, home of the PTC, Broad and Lombard in Phila.
