Remembering the fallen
I find the entire issue surrounding the return of the remains of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, two fine young men, to be very troubling. The Israeli government's decision to exchange a murderer and others for the release of the two dead Israelis will, almost, certainly guarantee the murder of other Israeli soldiers. There is no reason for Israel's enemies to keep prisoners alive since Israel is , obviously, willing to trade live murderers and terriorists for the remains of her dead soldiers.
It was very nice for "South Jersey to gather in tribute to fallen Israelis" (page one, Voice, July 30) however, when was the last time that South Jersey gathered to pay tribute to the over 4000 dead young American men and women who have served and died as a result of the Iraq/Afganistan conflicts? In that vein when was the last time South Jersey gathered to pay tribute to the tens of thousands of Americans many of whom have suffered grievous wounds and survived as a result of these conflicts?
South Jersey, as well as the entire country, owes an enormous amount of gratitude to our young people who have served so well. Paul S. Bunkin, Turnersville
