Synagogue, church choirs continue tradition of many years
     The combined choirs of Antioch Baptist Church of Camden and Cong. M'kor Shalom, a Reform synagogue in Cherry Hill, raised their voices in song and prayer at a worship service held at the church on April 27. This continues a synagogue/church tradition that has been going on for years. Here (from left), Rabbi Barry Schwartz of M'kor Shalom and Reverend John O. Dr. Dan honored by social workers
      Daniel Gottlieb of Cherry hill was honored with the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-NJ) "Public Citizen of the Year Award" on Monday, May 5. The award was presented during luncheon ceremonies at the NASW-NJ Annual Continuing Education Conference at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

Bonfire & BBQ at Chabad Center
      The holiday of Lag B'Omer will be celebrated with a traditional Bonfire & BBQ Thursday, May 22 at the Chabad Center, 1925 Kresson Rd., Cherry Hill. Highlights of the event will include a familystyle barbeque, petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting, singing around a bonfire, smores and lots of family fun.

Talmudic Ethics course at Chabad
      "Talmudic Ethics: Timeless Wisdom for Timely Dilemmas," a six-session course, will be offered by The Chabad Center in Cherry Hill and Chabad in Medford. The cost for the course is $80. Classes at the Chabad Center, 1925 Kresson Rd.

ACHaD uses new Haggadah
     Jill Tender, a member of the ACHaD Spirit Group at the Katz JCC, uses a new Haggadah created by the ACHaD Department with funding provided by the Jewish Community Foundation Florence and Jack Volk Passover Endowment Fund. ACHaD participants led the Passover Seder that was attended by over 125 individuals.

N.Y. Times page must be buried
      In printing a story about the Auschwitz Torah scroll that was discovered buried and incomplete, and recently reconnected and refurbished, The New York Times made a mistake, according to Penina Hoffnung, director of the Jewish Federation Department of Education.
